UBAY town 125 kilometers northeast
of Bohol’s capital, Tagbilaran City, is now richer by seven LED televisions and
as many DVD players.
This
after Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado of the 2nd District donated the units
bought with own-pocket funds.
The
solon said the move is an expression of gratitude, care and love for the
Ubayano pupils and students in public schools as well as residents of Brgy.
Fatima where his father and namesake – the late Rep. Erico Boyles Aumentado –
was born and went to school. The son had replaced the father in the
congressional race after the latter’s untimely demise due to pneumonia on
Christmas Day last year.
Calling
himself a “grandson” of Ubay, he urged the beneficiaries to take care of the
units so that even incoming pupils and students can still use them. He also
brushed off their barrage of thank you’s, saying he would rather have them
thank the Almighty who had poured His blessings on them. He is only God’s
instrument, he said.
Education
and support to education rank tops in his priorities, he emphasized.
Beneficiaries of
the P50,000-bonanza are the Ubay Central Elementary School, one 19” and another
22” LED TV; the Ubay National Science High School, two 32” LED TV; Fatima
through Brgy. Capt. Lolita Ceballos, one 22” LED TV; Camambugan Elementary
School, one 22” LED TV and Pangpang Elementary School, one 22” LED TV. All
units came with a DVD player.
